Martyr's Memorial
Important Tudor Monument
The Martyrs' Memorial in Oxford stands at the intersection of St Giles', Magdalen Street, and Beaumont Street. Erected in 1843, it commemorates Protestant bishops Hugh Latimer, Nicholas Ridley, and Thomas Cranmer, who were executed for heresy in the 1550s during the reign of Queen Mary I .
Designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, the monument is a prominent example of Victorian Gothic architecture . As a significant historical landmark, it is a popular stop on walking tours of Oxford, offering insight into the city's rich religious history
